Wow !! What a busy week. I have had all my x-rays, dental work, psychological evaluation, and got my authorization to re-run the PARE.
I also had my typing test done. I passed with 28 wpm and "0" errors. It was alot harder that I had thought it was going to be. The RCMP wants "0" errors which I didn't find out until after my first attempt. I got 39 wpm but I had a few errors. On my second try I got 32 wpm again with an error. The third time I went a lot slower and made sure I got every word right.
I received a call today from the RCMP recruiting office. I now have a person looking after my file. She said that my background investigation is now beginning. I need to get a few things for her before it can start though.
I had to track down one of the managers of Beaver Lumber. I left there in '94 and the store closed in '95. This was a bit of a daunting task but I did manage to find someone after calling all over the country. I have to get one more person from work on my list as well as someone from a store I worked at in Alberta. I should be able to get all the info to her by Monday Sept 9. Time will tell. She also told me that the background investigation could take about a month and that I should be prepared to go at any time after that. And she meant ANY time. I could get a call in the next few months giving me as little as 2 days notice to be in Regina. WOW. She gave and example that she received a troop roster today to fill for this weekend and when I talked to her this afternoon she had just finished informing people that they were going on Saturday. Today is Thursday.
Well its nice to see things are looking positive and speeding right along. Keep checking back ... Things are just getting interesting..........
