| June 9, 2005 Two years and counting |
| Time flies when you are having fun. I cant believe it's been 2 years since I graduated. Some times though, it seems like a million years ago. Its been two very busy years. I have had a wide range of calls from found bikes to missing hikers from domestic disputes to suicides. Its been challenging and fun. This job is full of times where you seem to be run off your feet to hours sitting in front of a computer writing about the times when you were run off your feet. Sure there are times, like any job, that I say to myself What the heck did I want to do this job for but luckily those times are few. The night shifts are hard to get use to. Especially when you get a call near the end of your shift and have to stay a few hours extra to finish the job or deal with "bad guy". I have come home from a few night shifts to find my family up starting their day. It kind of screws up your day off when you spend most of it sleeping. I have been fortunate to work in a place with people that I like. All of they guys in my detachment are hard working fun guys. Everyone gets along its made this a really nice place to work. Even though I have 2 years under my belt actually doing this job there is still a lot that I have to learn. There is so much information to know doing this job that it sometimes is overwhelming Well I have to prepare to go to work. I am looking forward to what the next year wil bring. |
