Now that I have a day off, I have time to sit and fill you in on what happened on Tuesday. I was in Safeway when my cell phone rang. Since my wife knew that I was in Safeway I thought that it was just her calling to ask me to pick something up. To my surprise it was the recruiting office.(hi guys) This was a different person than I have been pesting for months (sorry about that) . She wanted to know if I had a pen and paper. When I informed her that I was in Safeway she offered to call me back on my home phone. With the way this process was going for me I still had my doubts on why she was calling. I asked "is this a good call" and she replied "yes very good" So I rush home as quickly (and safely) as possible and waited for the her to call back. I didn't have to wait that long. A few minutes after getting home the phone rang and I heard the words that I had been waiting to hear for 18 months. "Congratulations I am phoning to offer you a spot in troop 26." Yaa hoo. After going over some stuff she said that she still had to book a flight and that I had to sign some paperwork at a local detachment. She said that she would make some arrangements and call me back in a day or two. Well, I got that call about 15 min ago. I have to head to Victoria on Jan 2nd to sign some paper work. I will even get to meet a fellow troop mate there which will be kind of nice. FINALLY wow... It's been a long road but there is an end to it. I now am starting on another road but with this one I AM driving. The only thing stopping me now is me and I don't plan to stop.
I know that I will be very busy over the next 6 months but I hope to try and get an update on my site when ever I have a spare minute. |
