| This was a school project in my MECH-200 Solid Works II design class. The idea was to use our the new RP machine that will make any design out of ABS plastic. Assignment: Design anything you want and use the RP machine to make the physical part. What I chose to build: Copy of the rear suspension of my new bike (Giant Trance 2) |

| Photo Left: This is the finished model on the pedal of the orginal bike it was designed from. Some parts were simplified due to time constraints and allowable material used. The final model is 1/2 size of the orginal. Photo Below: These are the pieces of the complete model as the come out of the RP machine. The green is the ABS plastic and the brown is the "scaffolding" that the machine uses to build freestanding objects. This material is water soluable and comes off with hot water basic solution and ultrasound. |
