36th Club Anniversary
The Rotary Club of Marikina celebrated its 36th Club Anniversary at the Sentrong Pangkultura ng Marikina last March 22, 2001.
The anniversary celebration was chaired by PP Mario Isidro. PP Romy Cruz and Sec. Dindo Santos presented a flashback called "36 Years in Rotary". Everybody present enjoyed and appreciated the powerpoint presentation for it did not only bring back memories but the way PP Romy handled the narration entertained and elicited laughter from the audience.
The keynote address of Gov. Teddy touched all the members of RC Marikina for he showed his appreciation of the club's accomplishments through the nice complements he gave to the club and to Pres. Eric.
Loyalty awards were also presented to selected Rotarians.
Entertainment numbers were provided by Baby Rtn. Vincent and Sps. Eula and Dir. Kiko and Sps. Monette. Charter Member Greg de Guzman's twin granddaughters provided musical numbers too.
The club was most appreciative to the Past District Governors who attended namely: Ruf Luna, Benny Ricafort with Sps. Nona, Ting Tanco and Sps. Alice, Paul Honorio, Lina Aurelio, Santi Chua, Tony Co and Sps. Malen and Pepe Peralta and Sps. Thesy. Sps. Mely was also present. Other invited guests from the District also came. Special guests were RC Quezon City Pres. Leopoldo Malabanan, representing the club responsible for creating RC Marikina and also members of Sister Club RC Kamuning headed by Pres. Romy Roxas.
The affair was capped by ballroom dancing and raffling of several prizes.
