"Sustansya sa Masa"
A Pre-launching/Screening of the Impact Feeding Project was held last July 19, 2000.
The formal launching was held last July 26, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. Venue of the project is at the Malanday Health Center.
This project funded by the Rotary Club of ChangHwa North, Taiwan, will last for 90 days or 3 months. It is in cooperation with different NGOs and government agencies such as Marikina City Health Office, Marikina Valley Medical Society, Malanday Barangay Government, Malanday Health Center and Barangay Health Workers.
A total of 30 malnourished children ages 6 months - 2 years old were selected from Barangay Malanday with the help of the Barangay Health Workers. Each child will be taken cared of by "Partners Mother and a Barangay Health Worker". They were subjected to health examinations and children found to be suffering from identified diseases will be given medicines and treated. Mothers and Barangay Health workers will work hand in hand in monitoring the everyday feeding, daily observations about the children and all information will be written in individual notebooks distributed for each child.
A memorandum of agreement was signed by Pres. Eric Ignacio for the Rotary Club of Marikina, Mrs. Lydia Ignacio for the Inner Wheel Club of Marikina, Dr. Angelito Llabres for the Marikina City Health Officer and Kagawad Paz Tiburcio for Barangay Malanday. A separate copy and English version of the MOA will be sent to the Rotary Club of Changhwa North, Taiwan.
Feeding of the children followed the short program prepared by the committee headed by Dr. Fabian Cadiz. The food was prepared by the Barangay Health Workers.
