RC Marikina sponsored a stage play that depicted problems of Child Abuse. This was presented at the Sentrong Pangkultrura ng Marikina last February 19, 2001 at 6:30 pm with the officers and members of Rotaract Club of OLOPSC as participants. The play was entitled "Mundong Payak, Pagkataong Winasak" written by OLOPSC Rotaract Adviser Ms. Amor Gutierrez.
The audience was deeply touched by the child abuse menace depicted on the play that many of them shed tears towards the end of the presentation. A huge crowd came despite of the heavy rains to view this drama. The play was funded by the Children's Opportunities Grant.
Last February 20, 2001, Pres. Eric Ignacio, Sec. Dindo Santos, Dir. Francis Pe Benito and Spouse Lydia Ignacio went to Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City to donate money for the operation of Jayvie Nu�ez, a three-year-old child who was beaten badly by his father causing multiple fractures in his body.
Unfortunately the patient was temporarily out of the hospital that time. The group will just come back when the patient is readmitted for the operation. This Child Abuse Project is being coordinated with the Hospital Director, RC Marikina's PP Romy Cruz.
