The First Generation of Rocket Boats that I have built is called the Flamethrower. Officially Retired as of May 15, 2001 due to structural stress that caused the hull to crack badly.

The first test of "The Flamethrower" was on a Sunday morning of April 29, 2001. The first launch I used an A8-3 rocket motor. It shot out about 23 feet. That was impressive considering that I had never tried it before. I took several more tries before I got it to launch again. However, the second launch proved kind of successful. It had a B6-4 motor and it traveled about 40 feet and then flipped over. Here's the picture... Click on the thumbnail to view the picture.
Finally the third and final launch of the rocket boat proved successful. With a C6-5 motor installed in the engine mount the boat traveled approximately 60 feet. That made me very happy. Here's a picture... Click on the thumbnail to view the picture. |
