Tuesday, June 16th's launching had only one launch where the boat stayed on the water.  All the other launches had the boat either land on the beach, fly into the air, crash upside down, or break a part of the boat.  Electrifying right!

One of the launches used an A8-3 motor that was the only launch that proved the boat could stay on the water.  The V-Hull worked as I thought it would pushing apart the water in front of the boat.  The boat even planed for a second (Planing means that boat as it increases speed rises up in the water and then comes back down on the water at a faster speed).  This was the only launch that really worked.

The next motors we (me, my dad, and my brother) were C6-3's and D-12's using these motors the boat stayed on the water for about 2 seconds.  One launch had the boat rise out the water as if it was rocket going straight up, then the boat came down on it's side, landed, and broke the stabilizers.  A D-12 launch had the boat which was first ignited out towards the water did a basic 180 degree turn and land back on the beach.  On the very last launch which had a C motor the boat flipped upside down while the motor was still lit and did the secondary explosion that is supposed to eject the cone under water.  Here's a picture.

The Electric Eel was first tested on Sunday, May 27, 2001.  The Electric Eel has a V Hull that then goes to a flat bottom.  The Hull worked very good as the next picture shows!

The three launches proved to be Hilarious, Disastrous, Terrifying, and Thrilling.  The Electric Eel lacks the weight that the other two Rocket Boats have.  All the weight is in the back and that can cause problems.

When launched The Electric Eel would do fine, when it was on the water.  Once the Electric Eel would lost contact with the water the rocket engine would cause the boat to turn flips in the air.  In the third launch the boat plowed into the water completely submerging itself and then came back out of the water and, still lit mind you, turned three flips in the air.

After the boat finished it's escapade in the air the boat landed right back in the dock where it had started from, how ironic.
