The Ultra Humanite�s lair

The Justice Society of America sat in their cell deep below the sewer systems of Beijing trying to think of a way of escaping the Humanite�s clutches.
�Well does anybody have any idea on how we are going to get out of here?� Hourman said as he leaned against the bars of their cell
�I am trying to think of something Rex so be patient.� Dr. Mid-nite replied
�I can�t understand how this cell resists our attempts to free ourselves. Its like the metal is unbreakable.� Hawkman chimed in
�Yeah even my low level energy blasts have had no effect on this metal nor has Sentinel�s emerald energy.� Captain Atom said as he rubbed his chin
�Of course not you fools.� The Ultra Humanite said as he made way to the cell which held the six members of the Justice Society,� This metal is very rare and composed of a unique formula making it virtually indestructible. It cost me a pretty penny to have this cell made for the six of you of course I originally had it designed for the original members of your team yet it appears I won�t have to worry about your new members breaking you out of their since the cell has proven to be adequate for your containment.�
�You can�t expect to hold us for ever Humanite eventually we will escape or some one will stop your mad plans.� Hawkgirl said as she gripped the bars
�Foolish woman I am expecting your young teammate to try and pull a rescue because I will be right here waiting for her.� The Humanite laughed

Growing impatient at the sudden lateness of her teammates, Yolanda decides to go after them to see what�s taking so along.
�Hey kid I want you to climb back up that ladder and go find some where to hide I�m going after my friends.� Wildcat said as she put him on the bottom rung of the ladder
�You�re asking for trouble if you go down their lady you could end up in way over your head.� The kid replied
�Yeah I know, but part of being a hero is taking risks and I have to risk it if I�m going to find out how my friends are doing.� Wildcat said,� Now hurry up and go kiddo.�
�Okay I will go just be careful miss kitty.� The boy replied and then climbed up the ladder
�Well now I guess I just go down this path and hope I run into them.� Wildcat thought to herself
The Pentagon

General Beck and his staff are currently on priority three-status alert which means that an escaped or stolen alien artifact must be recovered.
�What happened to the body Doctor Donovan?� General Beck said as he glared at the monitor in the meeting chamber of the D.E.O.
�Well so to speak general we began experimenting on the alien with high doses of solar radiation which we believed from our findings would restore him to life.� Dr. Donovan replied
�And what happened Donovan did he awaken?
�Well after thirty-six hours not only were we able to restore him, but he also showed a major increase in strength and bodily functions. In fact, the regeneration chamber started soaking up all the electro-magnetic energy here at Cadamus to feed to his body. After that, he awoke up and started panicking at seeing us and the equipment lying about. In what we observed to be a desperate move to free himself, he used some form of heat vision to melt the outer layer of the regeneration chamber so he could escape.�
�D***! Why wasn�t I informed early about this?� General Beck said as slammed his fists down on the table
�Well you were monitoring the Justice Society�s progress sir and we too busy trying to get the systems up and running. Doctor Donovan said as he showed videos of the destroyed labs
�Has the containment team been sent to recapture him yet?� General Beck replied as he grabbed one of his Cuban cigars to calm himself
�Yes sir we even have our new agents Geomancer and Nemesis working on it as we speak (1)�
�Good I want our alien to be dealt with nicely so have our people leak out that he is an escaped metahuman criminal named Richard Marcus who has escaped from federal custody and he is extremely dangerous. That way we can get local law enforcement�s help in finding him.�
�Good idea sir as for project matrix (2) I will keep up to date once we have more data to correspond with Doctor Boetcher�s research.� Doctor Donovan replied
�Very well I will contact you in ten hundred hours to discuss the procedures we need to secure for project matrix.� General Beck said as he ended the transmission
As he sat in his chair, General Robert J. Beck pondered all the ensuing chaos going lately. The Humanite�s bold threat on the world at large, the president�s plan to crack down on terrorism by any means necessary, and the sudden escape by the alien that they found in Smallville, Kansas which all added up to some unforeseen horizon which the general hoped wouldn�t blow up in his face.
Star City

The duo of Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) and Grace Choi have decided to take a joy ride through Queen�s hometown of Star City before they return to Brooklyn for their next mission (3) and so far it looks like the couple are enjoying more then the sites.
�Man your house is huge Queenie. It must pay to be a billionaire with so much cash to throw around.� Grace said as she walked around the luxurious living room of Queen�s expansive mansion
�Well yes it does, but often I find myself questioning my political stance since I have seen other people suffer when they don�t have the big bucks that I do.� Oliver replied,� I have thought of setting this place up as shelter or something and buying a smaller more comfortable house with in the city limits.�
�Yeah life can be rough especially in Metropolis we have all kinds of different problems that seem to pop up though I guess it�s not as bad as other places I have been to.� Grace said as she took a seat in one of the comfortable plush chairs.
�So what kind of places have you been to besides Gotham and Metropolis Gracie?� Oliver said as he sat in a chair next to her
�Well I have been around mostly Keystone, Central City, Gotham, and my home town metropolis. This is the first time I have been to Star City.� Grace said as she leaned back in the chair and looked into Oliver�s green eyes.
�Well hopefully when we have more time I will get to show you some other great places to visit Gracie.� Oliver replied he then stood up and walked over to his answering machine to check for any messages while he has been out.
�One Message�� The automated voice said,� Hi Oliver its Roy I was just wondering what you wanted to see me about because I am kinda busy right now with the Titans so if you get this message please call me back�.click�
�So are you going to confront the boy about his drug problems? I mean I really don�t believe in the fembot�s crazy story about some apocalyptic future and I find it hard to believe she could have known the things we did that day before we meet with her and Michael.� Grace said as she watched Oliver pace back and forth in front of the phone
�I know Gracie, but she has been right about everything so far and if she is right about Roy then I don�t know what to do. I have tried to raise that kid as if he were my own yet I haven�t always been their for him when he really needed me. When I took him on as my partner, I thought that by giving him a purpose would help him ease his pain over the losses in his life. I guess now I have to really set my priorities and decide which is more important to me now.� Oliver replied
Grace said nothing as she watched Oliver struggle over what to do with his ward
Smallville, Kansas

A large mountain of man makes his way through the lush cornfields of Smallville, Kansas as he searches for the boy he believes he is destined to destroy for his name is Gog and with in him contains the unbridled hate for the people who stopped him from killing the boy known as Kal-El
�Bah! Those insolent curs they have set back my destiny for far too long now the destruction that will destroy my family is over the horizon. For what they have done I shall make them pay ten fold by taking the lives of those people they hold dear (4).� Gog then reached into the very ground where years ago that he did battle with those heroes from across time, space, and the universe to grasp a small item that was inside of his vessel,� Yes it is still here after all of this time my trident which flows with the energies of the supermen and other heroes I have killed. Already I can feel my strength returning to its peak and soon I will deliver my vengeance to those who have wronged me.�
Gog then flew into the air with his maniacal laughter filling the nearby towns and scaring away the cattle.
The Raven�s Nest, Brooklyn, New York

Michael Holt alias Mister Terrific the field leader and co-financier of the outsiders sits at his work bench in one of the large storage rooms that makes up the underground bunker which now serves as his office and workshop which he shares with Indigo trying to figure out how to repair a small modular device which he has not shown his fellow allies save Indigo who is the one who gave it to him.
�Argggh! I almost had her memory module working again, but my T-Spheres do not possess the right components to keep it running.� Mister Terrific said as he put down his tools,� I thought my T-Spheres advanced circuitry would be enough to help her restore the rest of her memory, but like everything else I have tried she is just too advanced to even build the right components. If only I had a better understanding of five hundred and thirty seventh century technology I just might come up with some better ideas of restoring this module to working order.�
�Perhaps I should have not let you bear the load alone of restoring my memory Michael for I have detailed files on my own inner workings and have been programmed with extensive data files on five hundred and thirty seventh century sciences.� Indigo said as she walked into the workshop
�Yeah, but you said it your self that there are gaps in your memory, but maybe if you could teach me at least a bit of your inner workings I may figure out a way to restore all of your memories.� Michael said as he turned to her
�It will take some time and I am not sure you will even understand any of the basic concepts that I will throw your way. Yet it could be a probable that with your gifted mind you may understand the future of science.� Indigo replied as she walked by him and then sat down on the chair in front of Michael�s desk,� Then again I doubt most minds of this era could grasp the future of their world.�

�Well that idea of yours Charles has certainly back fired neither the heat nor the cold treatment from Captain Nuke here did us any good.� Rex said sarcastically
�Its Atom Captain Atom and trust me I have things well in hand.� Captain Atom replied
�Sure you do next you will say some big green Martian is going to come warn us about some big dumb hellish brute who wants to steal our lunch money (5).�
�Why you son of a ***** how dare you mock me you old fool. I could kick your @$$ any day of the week.�
�Enough Rex and you too Nathan neither one of you have exactly been helpful in this situation and as for this plan you have Nathan I think now is the best time to hear it.� Hawkman said as he got in-between Captain Atom and Hourman
�Well I wasn�t supposed to revile this information, but Dr. Irons is not only one of our best engineers and ballistics experts he is also an ex-marine who has been working on a prototype battle armor called T.I.N. M.A.N. The armor from what I understand was made from the scrape from a crashed UFO that the government found. They hired Dr. Irons to try and unlock its secrets yet what he found was the most amazing discovery ever. Of course, I did not understand any of what he was babbling about all I know is that since we missed our deadline that Irons will be sent with a fully equipped arsenal to deal with the Humanite and his tricks.� Captain Atom replied
�Well hopefully he won�t bring this place down on our heads.� Dr. Mid-nite said as he stretched his legs to get the stiffness out of them
�I doubt it there is a ton of people above us. My guess would be that John would tunnel underground so his attack will be muffled by the tight enclosed spaces.� Captain Atom said as he took another tug on the promethium bars
�Oh joy we are going to become a bloody paste that will adorn these walls.� Dr. Mid-nite replied as he sat back down
�I wish I knew how Yolanda is doing.� Hawkgirl whispered to her husband Hawkman
�I know Shiera she is in uncharted territory in which does not have the proper training or experience to deal with the threat that we presently face.� Hawkman whispered back
�Hey guys look at the drain pipe up their, I think I see Yolanda up their.� Hourman said as he directed their attention upward
�Yeah I believe it is her and she doesn�t even realize that she is running right into a trap.� Dr. Mid-nite replied
Yolanda leaped down unable to hear the warnings of her teammates due to the sound of the running water and a unique and loud heart beat coming from behind her.
�Hello my pretty, have you come to the aid of your pitiful friends,� a voice said from behind her
Yolanda turned around and saw the most horrific sight she has ever seen the shaggy man yet he was different and much uglier then usual. His body hair was shaved to almost none existence, yet he still had hair on his head which was parted into a long mane around his neck. His muscles were bigger then the largest boulder and he was taller any living thing she had ever seen.
�What in the blue hell did the Humanite do to himself?� Sentinel said as he almost found himself laughing at the sight before him
The other members stood their confused at what to say next because like Sentinel they found his appearance amusing instead of threatening. He looked like a shaved orangutan with a wig and diaper on.
�Did mister snookums forget his pacifier?� Hourman said sarcastically
The Humanite turned blood red in the face for his anger was quickly over taking him in his new body and he found it almost impossible to maintain his calm. Finally, it was Wildcat that struck the final chord.
�Does mister snookums want me to change his diaper? Hmm come on snookums come to mommy.�
�YOU MISERABLE CRETINS!� the Humanite screamed as he started lashing out in a fit of anger throwing anything and everything he could lay his hands on at Yolanda yet she managed to dodge them, but they kept getting closer to hitting their mark.
�She is not going to last much longer at that pace Carter we need to do something now.� Dr. Mid-nite said as he stood next to Hawkman watching the display of madness and violence going on.
�You can�t dodge me forever woman I will grind your bones into a find powder and then cast it into the wind as my machines devour your D.N.A. and supply me with a limitless resource of power in which I will rules this earth forever.� The Humanite said as kept increasing the pace at which he throws the boulders, pipes, and rocks at her.
�Not if I have anything to say about it!� said a blurred figure that streaked towards the Humanite
�What the�� was all the Humanite could blurt out as he was sent flying into and through the nearest wall.
�Well looks like the cavalry just arrived gentlemen.� Captain Atom said with a smug smile on his face
The blurred figure was apparently John Henry Irons in a bizarre looking metal mesh armor that was divided into patterns of silver and black. His mask was shaped much like his face except silver lens are placed in front of his eyes; the chest piece was shaped not only by his muscular chest, but also by a unique emblem that looked like an upside down triangle in the middle with a weird form of a letter that was unreadable to the members of the JSA. His armor was complete with a long black cape that is attached to the shoulder piece with the same emblem as on his chest.
�Well Nathan it looks like I have to save your ass yet again, but this time I brought the proper tools and a code name. You can all call me Steel while I am in this armor.� Steel said as he hovered near the cage. He then pointed his hammer at the cell door and with a massive magnetic charge; he blew the door off of its hinges.
�I am glad to be out of the cage finally now I think its time we give Humanite a proper greeting gentleman�.and ladies� Hawkman said then signaled them to charge
As the Ultra-Humanite pulled himself, out of the rubble he found himself attacked from all sides and getting knocked all over the lower cavern that laid beneath the sewer system of Beijing.
�When will villains like you realize that you cannot win when people like us protect the freedoms of truth and justice for all of mankind?� Hawkman said as he slammed his mace into The Humanite�s skull
�Argggh! I grow tired of this game now see who really has the upper hand.� The Humanite said as he pulled Wonder Woman and Firebrand I from inside of him
�Bleach! That is just gross.� Wildcat replied as she landed near Steel who kept his force vision prime and set on the Humanite
Yet the other JSA members reacted quite differently then Steel and Wildcat for they were horrified to see their former teammates who were lying near death from having been sucked dry of their life energies.
�Make one more move and I will crush them both in one blow your choice heroes.�
Hawkman motioned for them to stand down yet unnoticed to them and the Humanite was that Hourman had taken one of his miraclo pills in order to give him the speed to sneak up behind the Humanite. Once behind him he grabbed the Humanite�s arm and judo flipped him on his head while Sentinel transported Wonder Woman and Firebrand out of the way.
�I think its time to finish this fight once and for all Humanite.� Steel said as he blasted him with a high intensity force blast which knocked him into one of the support columns of the cavern and out cold. The shifting of the column started a chain reaction which made the whole lower level unstable and sending millions of tons of debris heading towards their heads.
�Oh s*it this place is coming apart at the seems.� Captain Atom said as he fired blast after atomic blast to keep the falling debris from falling on his teammates. Hawkman gathered everyone around Sentinel who was about to perform a nifty new trick with his emerald power.
�We are getting out of here now.� Sentinel said as used his power to teleport them back to America.
Epilogue

The Justice Society sat gathered at their meeting table to discuss the events that had happened recently. When suddenly, Dr. Mid-nite stormed into the room with a depressed look on his face for he had some dreadful news that concerned Wonder Woman and Firebrand I.
�I�I am afraid I have done everything I possibly can to save them, but it is not an enough already Firebrand died earlier and in a few more hours so will Diana.� Dr. Mid-nite said as hung his head low
Yet the Justice Society of America was only beginning to face their darkest hour.

I created Alternate Dc for only simple reason I wanted my own creative playground in which to play with story plots and characters that I wanted by the way the great writers who write the comics I read every day inspired to me also I wanted to find people who were easier to get along with then my previous fanfic group experience. Any ways on to the next question
Charles D. (Email withheld by request) asks us what is the concept of Alternate DC I am so confused?
Yeah I kind of lost some of the readers and some of my writers trying to explain, but basically instead of leaving off at the merged earth at the end of Crisis then reboot the whole DCU we have decided to continue with the merged earth from the ending point of the crisis as such we set up history pieces that were of sorts to explain the new differences we wanted to implement to make our continuity make sense such as making GA Wonder Woman the only WW through out the history with Donna taking her place in present times. We also set up rules that will be followed by stories which will prevent certain disruptions of continuity such as Young Justice, Superboy (Kon El), Impulse, and any other time traveler that appeared after the crisis. Now many of you maybe YJ fans, but we agreed that Kon and Bart is too much of a risk on our fragile continuity so for the foreseeable future they will not be allowed until a certain time after the group has gained its sea legs so to speak if at all.
Ironhorsecafe(Name and email withheld by request): Have you ever considered unifying the JSA and JLA?
Well Iron horse we have not on the account of how busy we have been lately though I have seen Justice League Unlimited I think such a concept in our continuity would be too limiting for other writers who may have need of some of the characters that might get drafted for such a project.
