| RHSA online's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service Privacy Policy Our privacy policy is simple. To protect your personal information as securely as possible within the bounds of the service which we seek to provide. The service which we seek to provide is current information about Rossville, Rossville High School and the means to contact RHS alumni, and those who participate in the service. To achieve the goal of providing the means to contact those who participate in the service we must have certain information. This information is vital to RHSA online in providing contact requests and updates to RHSA online members. Our service requires that those who wish to participate to provide a name (first and last), email address and year of graduation (if applicable) for our records. Giving RHSA online this information is giving RHSA online the permission to store and use such information. Also this gives RHSA online the permission to share submitted information to those who are members of RHSA online. When you join RHSA online your name and year of graduation is made available to those who access RHSA online's directory, all who access this page may not be members of RHSA online. Your email address is not displayed in the directory. RHSA online once displayed email addresses with the member's names. This system was abused, so we changed our manner of webpage display. *No email addresses of members will be displayed on the directory web pages, or in any email updates. RHSA online will also not share class email lists with anyone. For more information on how your email address would be used by RHSA online see the bottom of this page. Be mindful because of the nature of the service that is being provided by RHSA online, your email address will become available to others who use the service if you are active in using the service. Your level of participation is solely at your discretion. Email Policy RHSA online is not responsible for: a. Members who trade email addresses that are obtain through the service. b. Members who post their email addresses or the email addresses of others on RHSA online sponsored group boards. c. For any hackers who may obtain our email list. d. For any member who obtains your email address through the service and contacts you to the point of harassment. f. Mistakes or errors made by the owner of the RHSA online sponsored Yahoo! Groups or any moderators of the RHSA online sponsored Yahoo! Groups. Only the group manager has the master list of all current members and email addresses. RHSA online takes the responsibility of keeping this information confidential very seriously. We do not sell or share our members email addresses with marketing vendors. If this policy changes we will contact our members by email, and give them the choice to opt in or out. *We only share email addresses of those who have requested to contact another member, or RHSA online members who the group manager meets face to face. RHSA online has put into place a system to detect spamming of our members as a group. If we detect a volation we will alert our members. The alert will be published in the Bulldog Newletter. RHSA online has had to evolve as our service has grown. The steps we have taken in hiding members email addresses is part of that evolution, we regret having to take this step. Yahoo!'s Privacy Policy and etc.. Since RHSA online uses the services of Yahoo! to communicate with our members you may want to look at Yahoo!'s privacy policy at this link http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/. Also some have made statements to the effect that Yahoo! spams (sends junk mail) to its users. This is not true. Yahoo! goes to great lengths to stop spam. They have certain safe guards in place to review bulk emails and to determine if such mailings are spam. As for those who have a Yahoo! Account, if you have not edited your marketing preferences you will receive email from different vendors. To change your marketing preferences sign into your Yahoo! Account http://my.yahoo.com/. Click the link at the top of the page "Account Info". Enter you password, and then look for the "Edit your marketing preferences" link. About Yahoo! Groups RHSA online uses Yahoo! Groups as a medium to communicate with our members. RHSA online uses Yahoo! Groups as an email list to send class updates. When you join a RHS Class Yahoo! Group at the website you become a pending member and the group manager will review your membership application. You will also be required to email the group manager with certain information. This is to limit access to the group by spammers. Also the groups are setup so that member names and email addresses are not displayed. This is a measure to keep spammers who are determined to get around the group manager and into the group, from harvesting email addresses. Be mindful that members who post on the Yahoo! Group boards have their email address displayed. If you're concerned about this you may choose not to post. You can post and not have your email address displayed. This can be done by having your email address associated with a Yahoo! Id, and then hiding your email address by editing your group membership preferances. The Bulldog Newsletter Yahoo! Group has several members who are group moderators. These individuals have access to email addresses. RHSA online can not be responsible for the actions of the group moderators. If you feel that a group moderator is abusing their position please report the incident to the RHSA online group manager at [email protected]. Please state the moderators name (first and last), year of graduation and the moderators actions. Some class groups have group moderators. These moderators also have access to the members of that class email addresses. RHSA online can not be responsible for the actions of the class group moderators. If you feel that a class group moderator is abusing their position as a class group moderator please report the incident to the RHSA online group manager at [email protected]. Please state the moderators name (first and last), year of graduation and the moderators actions. The views and opinions expressed at the RHSA online sponsored Yahoo! Groups and at the Bulldog Newsletter may not be the views or opinions of the administrators, moderators or online group managers of RHSA online. Spam, forwarded emails and inappropriate postings at RHSA online sponsored Yahoo! Groups may result in restricted posting priviledges or membership termination. No exceptions will be made in this regard. When posting on a RHSA online Yahoo! Group sponsored message board, please be mindful that every member of the group should receive your message according to their email preference, this means that if there are 100 members in the group all 100 members may receive an email of your message. Non relevent posts, like forwarded emails, advertisments etc., are regarded as spam when forward to all members of a Yahoo! Group. News and Articles posted by RHSA online at the Bulldog Newsletter Yahoo! Group website. RHSA online posts (publishes) news & information that is made available to us by a. Word of mouth. b. RHS alumni. c. By emails that we receive. d. By news sources such as newspapers, newsletters and public meetings. e. Submissions by RHSA online members or guests. RHSA online can not guarantee the accuracy of any of these sources. RHSA online will not accept responsibility for any inaccuracies that we might post from these sources. We advise all members to check thoroughly all that are involved in planning events and reunions before sending money or attending. We accept no responsibilies in the planning or execution of events or reunions. Submissions to RHSA online for posts at the Bulldog Newsletter Yahoo! Group website must follow the guidelines at this link, www.geocities.com/rchs_alumni/AM4a.html If you submit material for posting and RHSA online uses your material, your email address that is on file with RHSA online may be included in the posting. The RHSA online group manager will decide how pertinent the posting of your email address is in relationship to your submitted information. After your submission, your email address can then be posted by the RHSA online group manager at any time and on any RHSA online group website or email. Your Privacy and Contact Requests RHSA online values your privacy, if after joining our alumni service you decide to unsubscribe from your RHS class group or ** the Bulldog Newsletter Yahoo! Group, RHSA online will not forward any contact requests to you or from you. Unsubscribing will be interpreted as not wanting to participate in the service. RHSA online will continue to list your name in our directory even if you unsubscribe. This is so that other alumni will know that your information is no longer available. The following tag line will be listed after your name, "contact information not available (no longer a RHSA online member). RHSA online will not be responsible for any alumni who has obtained your email address through our service or Yahoo! groups service and then contacts you after you unsubscribe from the service. The RHSA online service will try to the best of our ability to list those who have unsubscribed in the above manner. Starting in June of 2004, RHSA online will be limiting forwarding of contact requests. To keep your email address private you must so state in your email to the RHSA online group manager, but beware, your contact request may still be posted (published) at your RHS Class Yahoo! group website or Bulldog Newsletter, due to time constraints of the group manager he or she may not be able to comply with your requests. RHSA online and the group manager will not be responsible if your email address is posted on any RHSA online sponsored Yahoo! group or Bulldog Newsletter by RHSA online or any one who is participating in Yahoo! groups. RHSA online will not be responsible for misdirected or inadvertently forwarded emails that may be posted to a RHSA online sponsored Yahoo! group even if you have so stated a request for privacy. RHSA online Directory RHSA online is not responsible for any errors or omissions in the RHSA online directory. RHSA online is not responsible for the way listings (names) appear in our directory. All names have been submitted to RHSA online by the party that wishes to be included in the directory, along with class year. Submitted names, class years and email addresses have not been verified. Due to the nature of the internet RHSA online can not guarantee that all members listed in the directory are real or have valid email addresses. RHSA online's Privacy Policy will not apply to your submitted link, and RHSA online will not be responsible if information of a personal nature is listed at the link that you have submitted. The link will be removed if the member's email address on record with the RHSA online group manager becomes invalid. * When your email address will be used or published by RHSA online. Joining RHSA online gives the group manager permission to send you class updates, news, email verfication and any other type of email that is part of the RHSA online service. Submission of news or other information to RHSA online for posting on any RHSA online sponsored website is an implied permission of publishing your email address. By submitting anything for posting to RHSA online, your email address may be published by the RHSA online group manager at any time on any RHSA online website or email. RHSA online sponsored websites include websites operated by Yahoo! Groups. A request to contact another member of the service is an implied permission of usage of your email address. Under certain circumstances the Group Manager may post your emails on any RHSA online Yahoo! Group websites if the email is relevant to a RHSA online sponsored group. All content of such emails including email addresses will appear in such postings. Keep this in mind when sending informational emails to [email protected], to exclude posting of these types of emails please ask in your email that the information not be posted. Group will apply to those members who are not subscribed to a RHS Class group.
