Every class, kindergarten through grade 5, has a scheduled library special once each week. During these specials, our district goal of improving literacy and numeracy is emphasized. Lessons reflect grade level Core Content that is taught in the classrooms, as well as information literacy. Students also have the opportunity to return, check out, and read their library books, conduct research, take AR tests, vote for their favorite Bluegrass Award nominees, and to read periodicals. Once a week, Arts and Humanities classes are taught by the Media Specialist to fourth and fifth graders. |
| Students choose library books that are right for them from the nonfiction collection. |
| The Media Center also collaborates with the RCH staff to provide teaching resources and assistance in the selection of materials to supplement instruction. |
| Our Principal, Mrs. Ryle, joins in to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. |
