"Roadwork"
Equipment: Nikon F90x    Date: March 2001

Roaming around Camp Zama just outside Tokyo, I was on the hunt for some "wild art" for the newspaper.  This U.S. Army post was quiet, and very little was happening.  But just as I was getting ready to pack it in and head back home, I came across workers tearing a good-sized portion of road near the post gym. One thing that can be said about Japanese who work with their hands: they don't mind being photographed.  Although this poor guy was getting mildly ribbed about it from his co-workers, he was very patient with me as I waited for the shot I was looking for to come into view.  Compliant subjects are any photographer's dream.
