"Roppongi at Early Evening" In the early evening, as the sun starts to sink behind the massive buildings in Tokyo, the fluorescent lights that try to keep the night sky at bay begin their evening ritual. I stood on a street corner in Roppongi and started shooting long exposures to get the natural hue of the fluorescent lights against the failing afternoon light. It occurred to me while surveying the scene that, despite the social hub that is this area of Tokyo, it doesn't give off a feel of being a hugely metropolitan area. Even with the overpass snaking through the center of Roppongi, the buildings don't seem any more imposing than the center of some town in Midwest America.
