"Roppongi Crossing" It's the street corner discussed a thousand
times a day. If anyone has to meet somebody, whether for the first time on
a blind date, or to find a common fixture for two old friends to hook up, it's
done here. Standing by the front window at Almond, fighting off the
hawkers trying to make a quick few hundred yen by getting you to go into various
bars, one can watch the world fly by in a whiz of auto exhaust and human
shuffling. The pink-shuttered windows of Almond provide decent cover in a
light rain, and stand out like a beacon to the lost. And there are plenty
of lost people in Roppongi, day and night.
