"The Shopper"

Her tiny basket cart said it all. This was a woman who had shopped for the same items in this same marketplace every week for probably half a century. Even though she's stopped to rest for a second, she already visualizes what her cart will look like by the end of the hour; a package of fish here, laundry detergent there. She'll most likely board the same bus she always boarded and be deposited by the same stand, and make the same walk to her house. On her face, her routine is written. This is tradition of a common kind.
