"Modern Jazz" Bars across Japan have, if nothing else in common, the ability to show off the eccentricities of their owners. Take for example, the Jazz Port bar in Shimoda, about three hours south of Tokyo. Tucked away on a side street in the line of fire of the city's "History Walk," it looks like the opening scenes from the 70s TV show "Sanford and Son." That green car is actually filled with all sorts of junk, and the bike you see there is actually one of several; most of the rest are in the bar itself.
