The little pink signs on the window tell you at what section of the city you're peering out.

The real reason (I hope anyway) that people come to Tokyo Tower is for the view.  On a clear day I'm told, you can see straight into Yokohama from the south side of the tower.  Unfortunately, on this particular day, the sky was a little overcast, so I saw as far as I could, but I think that only extended to within the city.  But it still made for an awesome view.  Click here to see some views of Tokyo through the windows.
