| Holiday Prayer Because I am, I am - nothing more or less, I stand before you with only my heart to give A heart filled with faith, adoration, and love And a hope that my life to in your world live Oh, I like the bright lights and tinsel aglow And packages wrapped with paper and string All the wonderful treats that taste so divine But your love is by far my favorite thing As your company drops by with holiday wishes And with pretty boxes tied up with a lovely bow I offer you my gift so humble, small, and plain And pray you know your love sets my heart aglow But perhaps the best of gifts can't be closed in box And wrapped in pretty paper and tied up with a bow The riches of the holiday aren't in the gifts we see But in the special love and friendships that we know It's the holidays again - what shall I bring What can I offer to show just how I feel? What can I say to show how my heart sings What gifts can I share to make the joy real What gifts can I bring to the feast this time To say thank you for all that I am grateful for? Could you hear the love in this heart of mine It would silence even the great ocean's roar. So I simply stand here and offer all that I am, My heart, my hopes , my dreams, and my love, I pray for you prosperity throughout the land And wish you peace and tranquility from above. But I ask at day's end when festivities are done And you reflect upon it, remember me my friend, Know that when you need me, to you I will run, Ever loyal, every loving, and yours until the end So I sit patiently and wait for your company to leave And the peace and calm of the season to descend For then you will pet my head and brush my fur And we will bask together in a love without end Though others may not see just what we share And not understanding, they'll say "it's just a pet" Our gift to each other is the love, the joy, the care The greatest of gifts that we before each other set And as the holidays approach and I check upon you here Because I am no longer here, please do not be blue I remember all our happy times and all the love we share Know that I choose to spend this holiday with you |

| Not Wild Frightened eyes Existing in life's shadows Reclusive Apart from others Longing Frightened eyes peering at a world forbidden to them Existing in life's shadows, avoid the world of man Reclusive, seeking only a peacefully existance Apart from others, watching, hoping, struggling Longing for the small comforts most assume their right Wild? - Look, there is no W within our name We seek only a small space we can call our own Strive to avoid contact - keeping to our selves We live hungry, cold, and abused by life itself Seeking only existance and the scraps left behind |
