Silver Dawn

Goodbye

I reach across the distance, back in my memories
I smile for all the joy that we have shared, you and I
I miss you loving presence, so small yet so large
I whisper your name through silver tears of goodbye

But you still reach out and touch my hurting heart
You whisper of your love to the longing in my soul
You show me the part of your heart you left behind
In place of mine that went with you so I may be whole
Events

As is always the case any creation
We are all but the sum of our parts
The bits of life we have accumulated
Those events engraved on our hearts

We are a  reflection of those events
The day to day happenings we see
The creator has used to shape us
Into the person he wants us to be

All that will be has long been penned
Written in our book by his own hand
He asks not that we understand it all
But know all has been carefully planned
Prayer

May the love and life force in the great silver web wrap around all and offer her strength to heal and preserve them.

May each soul in it's own time know a gentle crossing - in the arms of angels surrounded only by love - and may those of us left behind find peace
Transition

As the evening sun slowly takes her leave
And the sunset like a soft pink mist rolls in
And slowly the midnight blue velvet unrolls
And to the very heavens the stars do it pin

And the moon gently tugs the evening's tides
Pulling her waves steadily upon the shore
And in so doing she erases the day's footprints
That the morrow may start new as before

I sit safely shrouded by the peace of the night
Drifting in the night songs few even care to hear
I reach out and touch the great silver web of life
And realize that in her silken lines all are near

I sit embraced by the night concealed from prying eyes
With the web of all that is and was and ever will be
I tell her of my hopes and dreams, and she replies
Whispering, sharing the secrets of all time with me
Night Song

In the still evening breeze as the night songs dance with the fireflies
The beings of the night peek into the open spaces seeking to stay unknown
The night fairies come out and sing to add to the concert of the night
And the stars part the frail night clouds revealing the moon upon her throne

I listen to their calls to all to join in their celebration of love and life
And I walk through the peace of the night sharing their joy in just being
Feel their kinship with all, their connection with the great silver web
I cling to the moment and I try hold it close knowing that it is fleeting
Love's Face

So it is one day i look and wonder at what i see
The ones who's path i joined in youth has in an instant changed
When did all the silver join where dark hair used to be
And the face that has ever youthful been now shows signs of age

Have our steps along the path of time carried us this far
Why did i not see the changes that have occurred along the way
Then I look into your eyes and see the same shining star
And I see again the one I that met and fell in love with on that day

But then I realize who I saw and fell in love with on that day
Was never the physical visage that before me stood or now stands
But the heart and soul that I saw in your eyes and your way
Only grown richer with the slow drifting passage of time's sands.
Words

Lost in the dreary moments of coal black tears
Hanging still on harsh hurtful words spoken
Wishing them gone - to never have been said
Sinking down with a heart and spirit broken

Words locked, as in amber, in a moment past
Neither can erase them, they cannot be unsaid
And they exist for all time an echo in the mind
So to dull the pain try to make feelings go dead
