Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

Yesterday I rescued a kitten, I nursed her and loved her,
Yesterday we took the steps a long happy life to give her ,
Yesterday I worked with her to teach her trust and love,
Yesterday I took the steps so she could love another.

Yesterday I trained her well, and gave to her my heart,
Yesterday I showed her love, and hope, and light.
Today I give her to another, I know I've done my part,
To give her a forever home where everything is right.

Tomorrow fill her life with love and happiness and joy,
Tomorrow continue the journey she and I began,
But if  tomorrow you find that you've had a change of heart
Don't dicard her, bring her back - I'll take her in again.
The Travelers

On a quiet woodland path they met, forwritten it was this would be
For the threads that drew their lives were linked binding their fates
And there was in the end one tapestry shared, as it were, by the three
So they met as strangers yet knowing as they met they were bound

So unlikely a trio to any who would see them, so different in every way
Three different worlds, three different lives, different yet all were linked
So as a new dawn rose, soft and inviting, their journey began a new day
And they walked together in comfortable familiarity as would old friends

The dragon carried the gifts of the earth, wisdom, reality,  and strength
The unicorn carried the gifts of the soul, knowledge, purity, and faith
Sheltered safely between them a small faerie who carried the muses gifts
The songs of the heart, the earth, and the sky and the music of the heart

And so from now forward their paths have been bound not three but one
Facets of a rare brillent gem not quite of this world they pass through time
And for that moment all worlds are linked, as one as they were before time
And until the time the faerie's glass bubble is shattered - all things are possible
Twilight Life

In the spaces - trapped in the twilight between living and death
Existing in the gray solitude of quiet desperation - apart and alone
Seeing the clear blue skies and drifting clouds without freedom
Knowing only a cold, inhospitable place for too long called home

I first came into this world noble, brave, and free
Born to roam and know the wild wide open places
Part of a family bound by love, strong for our bond
Linked at our hearts forever to each other for all time

How did it come to pass this non-life that I live?
When did I become a shadow of all I am meant to be?
Alone, silent, withdrawn from a world I can't take
Dimly I recall a life where I had family and was free

If freed will I recognize and understand others of my kind
Can they accept who I really am and where I've been?
Or will freedom mean only a change of twilights - still bound
To gray quiet solitude - with others yet still apart and alone
The Wind

A gentle wind kissed my face, welcoming you to our arms
And softly sang a song of welcome to all with ears to hear
The wind did not reveal how long with us you would stay
It sang only the start of a journey, the song of just that day

Through the youthful times of boundless headstrong energy
I watched your fearless play and prayed for you to the wind
Let me make for you a life that is free from harm and tears
When you come home at day's end may you not see my fears

Through to young adult days with love strong and steadfast
I watched your love and devotion and I prayed to the wind
Let me be worthy and half of the person he believes me to be
May I deserve the love and trust that he gives to me so free

Through the older years my heart, my devoted faithful friend
While we sat together companions, feeling comfortable and safe
Then a gentle wind kissed my face taking you to eternity
I pray to the wind sustain me until again your face I see
