| REASSURANCE This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33) No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it (1Corinthians 10:13) DIRECTIVES Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry (James 1:19) Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you (Romans 12:3) Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me. (Mark 9:36-37) Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulstion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7) I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances (Philippians 4:11) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ that you are serving (Colossians 3-23-24) Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility to all men. (Titus 3:1-2) Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God (1 Peter 2:16) I know, O Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for a man to direct his steps. (Jeremiah 10:23) Be not wise in your own eyes (Proverbs 3:7) Do not be afraid of sudden panic...for the Lord will be your confidence (Proverbs 3:25) Do not contend with a man for no reason when he has done you no harm (Proverbs 3:30) A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Proverbs 15:1) Everyone who is arrogant is an abonomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished (Proverbs 16:5) A cheerful heart is a good medicine; but a downcast spirit dries up the bones (Proverbs 17:22) A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion (Proverbs 18:2) He who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him (Proverbs 18:17) Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him (Proverbs 26:12) Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler; whoever is led astray by it is not wise (Proverbs 20:1) Do not say, Why were old days better than these? For it is not wise to ask such questions. (Ecclesiastes 7:10) A fool gives full vent to his anger; but a wise man keeps himself under control (Proverbs 29:11) So I see there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot.
