MAJOR PHILIPPINE CABLE TV COMPANIES

1)    Sky Cable

2)    Global Destiny Cable

The Philippine Cable TV Industry have seen a lot of players in the market. Like the Telephone and Wireless industries, Cable TV has seen the consolidation of the major players to help reduce costs and this has left us with a few large companies and lots of other small-scale companies.

As we can see, the Cable TV industry would really seem to be a very big monopoly controlled by Sky Cable. Clearly, only Destiny Cable would be the good "second choice" for Metro Manila subscribers. While in the provinces, most subscribers would be left with little choice; they either have to go a local subsidiary of Sky Cable, or they can choose to go with other independent operators who may charge lower fees but are limited when it comes to their service coverage areas (much like the PAPTELCOs in the telephone industry).
