MT FUJI
Mt Fuji is over 3,776 meter (12,390 ft.) high, making it the tallest mountian in Japan. In July and August there are over 300,000 visitors. I hiked a two and half hour hike from station five to the crater rim. From this vantage point, one can see Fuji City and the Pacific as well as Numazu and Suruga Bay.
On Saturday, October 16, I hiked from station 5 around the red / gold loop (middle loop) and into the light blue crater bowl.
My hiking companions and guide was Michiko Azuma, her husband and her daughter, Yoko.
Above -Mt. Fuji and Crater view from last rest stop
Below- Standing on one rim you can see across.
From the crater edge, one can see across to what is known as the Japanese Alps. This 40 degree, but no wind, day was ideal for hiking
Mt Fuji from Numazu, after an good day hiking.
