Building the boat: I built this boat during a 2 week period in my spare time. The boat hull is of an hydro style and first build with an upper radio compartment and an air rudder. After covered with fiberglass i gave it a quick paint job.
First time at the lake: Wow, what can i say? The boat had no handling, it was a challenge to get it into a straight line but when i got it, it was fast but always ended up in a crash. While going straight and fast if i released the throttle the boat would catch in the wind and filp over.
Modifications: I moved the radio compartment in the front of the hull to add weight to the front to stop it from catching in the wind, i changed to a 1" x 3" water rudder and added spash guards between the skis to stop water from catching in the prop.
Conclusion: This boat is good for straight passes but that is about it. Making fast turns is very tricky because the boat flips over half the time. But with a modification to the rear of the hull this could be repaired.
