Davy Hand Launched Glider
A small easy to transport HLG. Built of balsa with a carbon fiber spar and fuselage boom. Fast building; can be built from scratch in a day. Off the shelf sub-micro radio gear. Tow it aloft with a small powered plane, or just give it a good toss. Weighs about 4 oz rtf.
1/16" sheet balsa speeds construction time and is stronger than a stick built tail. Forward Portion of the Fuselage shows the wing mount and servo's. A balsa pod covers the servos and other electronics. 3/16" Carbon Fiber tube spar is strong and light. Balsa construction throughout yields a low cost airframe with good performance.
