Born in 1956 in Stepanakert
(Mountainous Karabakh), he graduated the Yerevan Martiros Sarian Art College
in 1980.
R. Askarian is a member of the Painters Union of Armenia.
Each year since 1977 he has been taking part in the USSR, Republic of
Armenia, or international art events.
