The Candle Burns
Like a Lighthouse on some craggy shore
Guiding a lost ship in the wrong way
Til is crashes and flounders in the surf
      Sails rip and masts snap
Men are flung into the torrent
The Candle Burns
Like a lightbulb in a rats nest apartment
      Nowhere, USA
In the corner a runaway cowers
Hiding from her past, scared of her future
A needle stuck in her vein, releving pain
The Candle Burns
Like the fires in the pits of Hell
       Lost souls wander
Moaning out for someone to help
Poked and proded by Satan's legions
Agony, Fear, Pain - they shriek
The Candle Burns
I try to snuff it out and it burns my fingers
I try to walk away and it burns brighter
I close my eyes and it fills my head still
The one who lit it is no longer here
But it burns still
The Candle Burns
Scaring my soul
Burning my heart
Filling my head
