Pastor Timothy opened the speeches with a prayer.
All guest speakers were allowed five (5) minutes each commencing with project founder/initiator Mr Paul Baki remarks followed by the District Administrator, Mr Ipae Maniha, and then other guest speakers.
1. Mr Paul Baki initiated the project to enage the un-employed youths from Mando # 1 village and other villages in (Wards 7, 8 & 9) from turning to drugs, home brew and other illicit drugs/drinks.
2. Mr Ipae Maniha, D/A stressed the need and important of such initiatives to keep the people busy and venture into income generating activities. He also cautioned the young people about the dangers of the fast-spreading HIV/AIDS epidemic and urged the people to engage themselves in such projects as Andawayufa Resource/Tourism Centre.
3. Other speakers stted that gold and copper (other minerals) will be gone tomorrow, but tourism is here to stay. Therefore, we need to look after the tourists/visitors with uttermost care and hospitality. Young people were encouraged to provide best protection and guidance whenever the tourists are around.
4. Mr Vincent Pou, Chief Curator of JK McCarthy Museum - Goroka encouraged every other such project to get started, organise and seek outside assistance, then pledged K200.00 as his organisations contribution.
The District Administration, Mr Ipae Maniha cut the traditional ribbons at 4:00pm.
Light refreshment was provided for the invited guests at 4:05pm.
Ceremony was officially closed at 4:35pm.
