Super Metroid is the third installment in the Metroid series from Nintendo and personally one of my favorites. For me this game has memories attachd to it as I played it my childhood friends. This game has has an amazing soundtrck and great controls and is all around fun. You play Samus Aran, a bounty hunter who is delvering a metroid that she catured to a science station for research. After you leave The station becomes under attack by Ridley, the leader of the space pirates who captures the metroid. You follow Ridley to the planet Zebes which was the planet you are one in the original Metroid game. There you fight the space pirates and their leaders and gain all sorts of abilities along the way which you need to defeat the mother brain and escape the planet.
