Profile, Bio, about me:

Hello, I’m Rajinder Bimrah, a graduate from John Abbott College in Publication Design and Hypermedia. At school I’m involved with the Peace Studies, Gender Studies, and Environmental Studies certificates. I’m also a member of the Free the Children club and I’m involved in H.E.A.L. (Helping Environmental Actions and Learning). In these extracurricular activities, I am involved in various activities, such as informing myself about an issue, finding a solution and spreading the word to fellow students.

While studying design, I struggled to find a major design influence, and recently I’ve found inspiration in the photographs I’ve taken. There is satisfaction in using one’s own photographs in a layout that makes me feel at ease.

My design philosophy is more of a process, than any particular school. I ask opinions and work on a piece until it’s visually satisfying.

I went to a French high school and I’m bilingual. I get along easily with people at work, and school such as collaborating to work through a task, and listen to the advice of fellow workers and students.

In addition to photography and design, my technical skills involve building and troubleshooting computers; Also coding such as: CSS, PHP, XHTML, and JavaScript. When I’m stuck at a certain point in a project, I try hard to overcome this obstacle and complete it. (For example, images not printing out correctly or not appearing well in PDF.). Here’s my knowledge of some of the programs I use:

My interests include movie making (from shooting to editing, to adding images, DVD menus, etc…), listening to music, reading, writing, watching movies, drawing, art history, cycling repair, walking, photography (analog film SLR and digital point and shoot), social issues, and discussions. Concerning movies, music, and social issues. I've done some water testing for the world water monitoring day.I really like to analyze every detail, and try to capture the most information I can. I tend to be analytical person. Also I have a curiosity for knowledge. I usually get involved in a project, and try to push myself.

For over three years I’ve worked at the Coliseum Kirkland, and have been the employee of the month twice. Also working as part of a team there helped me to open up and built my confidence in working with the public, handling guest concerns and problems.
