Hey thats Me!!!
I have been in the lanscaping business for about 15years now and I will not back down from any task. No tumbel weed or varmit will scare me away! I am passionate about my business and that is to take care of all your landscaping tasks that a customer might have, and bring their landscape to and beyond its former glory. I have all the right tools to get the job done the first time, and I love botany!
A. Documentation of the Development Process Explain to your audience the intent and purpose behind this website. What steps did you take in creating the website that ensured you met your objectives?
Response: The purpose of the designed website is to appeal to an audience that needs the assistance of a landscaping service. That will take care of basic lawn care that individuals are seeking. The steps in creating the website are as follows. Step one: select a background that will appeal to individuals that are seeking landscaping services. Step two: select a theme that will carry a warm flow to the entire site. This was down with warm landscaping humor with the “Uncle Ramon” character. That can appeal to an audience member without feeling overwhelmed. Step three: select a layout that will be easy to understand and easy to navigate. That was done by having the site content listed in a easy to read font, and by placing the navigation links in the top center of the website. That will allow for individuals to easily locate additional site pages.
B. Defense of the Final Product Why did you make the specific design choices that you did? For each of your website’s pages, explain your rationale for the overall design, as well as the individual components (colors, typography, etc.). Support your choices with evidence of your consideration of the end user. What did you do to make your website engaging, professional, and easy to use?
Response: The entire website was designed with a warm earth tone that was derived from the selected background. The background consists of an image of a tree and leaves that are displayed by the color placement of the primary color green. That will follow by the secondary color white. These colors were chosen because of they do not distort the selected font color for the website. This color scheme was also selected so the end user will not have any issues when trying to read information from the site. The home page is designed with one header with the title of the website along with the navigation links right below. That will allow users to easily navigate through the website with ease. That is then followed by a brief paragraph of an introduction of the website. That will engage users with the warmth humor of “Uncle Ramon” and will set the easy to use tone by the selected humor of the site. That will then follow by an image of “Uncle Ramon”. The about page is designed with a same header and navigation layout of the home page that will keep users from losing the location of the navigation links. That will then follow a picture of “Uncle Ramon” that will carry the warm humor of the site to keep users from feeling a bit overwhelmed. That will then follow a secondary header with the title of the about section of the website. That will contain a brief overview of “Uncle Ramon”. The services section of the website will carry over the main title of the home page along with the picture of “Uncle Ramon” That will then have a secondary header of the displayed section, and will follow by a humorous graphic that users can relate too. This will allow for users to feel that “Uncle Ramon” can relate to their situation. After the image a table will list in detail all the services offered by the business, and will be surrounded in a blue outline so users can center in on the information. Then an separate paragraph will be displayed after the table with an asterisk symbol so users can see that everything is negotiable, and will not feel overwhelmed with the initial table information. That will then follow by a humorous graphic of “Uncle Ramon” in action after a job well done. The next section of the website is the picture section that will carry the initial layout of the home page, and then follow a brief paragraph of purpose of the website section. A picture table was created to combine pictures of before and after services was acquired from “Uncle Ramon”. This was designed to open the selected image in another window to allow users to see the image in greater detail than in the table. After the table a quick grass cutting video is placed so users can see what a typical grass cut service might include.
The Contact section of the website will follow the initial layout of all the pages then will have a secondary banner that will describe what the section is about. That will then follow a graphic of the World Wide Web that will engage users that contact can be done with this website. That will allow users the ability to make initial contact with the selection of their choice. That a user can fill out a form with the desired method of contact. This website has been designed to not overwhelm a user and carry a warm friendly flow in all aspects of the website. That will maintain a professional and relatable approach for “Uncle Ramon”.
C. Opportunities for Improvement and Growth Finally, explain what else you might like to do with this website in the future. What could you have done differently if you had more time or resources? What sorts of content, capabilities, pages, etc. might you want to include in future updates?
Response: Opportunities for improvement are available and I would like to change the layout to a color coded layout that will come when additional skills for using HTML are learned. Then possibly add an interactive map where users could see some of the local public projects that have been completed by “Uncle Ramon”. That would be one extra addition that would provide a competitive edge for this website. Along with creating a working fill out form to a designated e-mail solely for the purpose of the website. That will come with additional time and research. Then the addition of a customer review option that will allow for users to leave feedback from services acquired from “Uncle Ramon”. That will be the considered for an addition to the site during the course of any future updates.
