Ways To A Better Year In Social Studies
Welcome to 7th grade social studies. In order to make this a rewarding year, we
must go over some basic rules and procedures for our classroom. I will assume
the responsibility of a good teacher, while you assume the responsibility of a
good student. You and I must make a
commitment to work together. Our
classroom environment will promote respectful, reasonable, and responsible
behaviors.
You are expected to make every effort to adhere to
the following guidelines:
1. Attendance- If you are absent from class, it is
your job to find out what you missed. Refrain from asking me, “What did I
miss?” Instead ask a friend and tell me
what you need. Call a friend...go on my
website- http://www.geocities.com/rbaulch76
2. Lateness- Do not arrive late for class. Be in your seat when the bell rings. If you have a pass, leave it on the
desk. If you do not have a pass, just
take your seat and see me at the end of the period. DO NOT INTERRUPT THE
LESSON!
3. Preparedness- Each day you are to have your notebook,
agenda book, a pen AND pencil, other necessary
“school supplies,” and any homework assignment which may be due. DO NOT BOTHER OTHER STUDENTS!
4. Textbook- LEAVE YOUR TEXTBOOK HOME!!!
5. Notebook- You can use a section in a
loose-leaf binder with a pocket folder.
I recommend dividing your notebook into 2 Sections (Homework &
Classwork/Notes)
6. Homework- *Always copy your homework into
your Agenda Book.
*Check my website http://www.geocities.com/rbaulch76 *Full sentence
answers.
*Always
use a Full Heading
*Use
a separate piece of paper for each assignment
*Be
Neat!!
*Hand
all assignments in on the assigned due date
7.
Extra Help- Extra help
really helps...don’t leave for home without it!
Given afternoons or by special arrangements in the
morning. You need it, I’ll arrange
it!!!!
8. Behavior- Behave
like a student who...
*cares about
themselves and other.
*values
their educational opportunities.
*will
make lifelong friendships in school.
9. Disciplinary
Action- The
majority of students in our class will never need disciplinary action. Disciplinary action will be handled on an
individual basis.
10. Grades- Tests/Projects
(40%), Quizzes (30%), Homework/Classwork (20%),
Cooperation, Attitude, and Participation (10%)
11. Following
Directions- Follow directions
when they are given. This is especially
important when completing assignments.
Become a good listener who follows directions.
12. NO,
NO, NO..... gum, hats,
walkmans/discmans, coats, drinks, food, ...you know the no’s!!!
Exceptions- very hot day, then only water
is ok! sore throat? sure cough drop ok!
13.
Leaving the Room-
In the case of an emergency that requires a visit to the nurse or restroom, you
may leave the room after filling out the “Hallway Passport” section of your
AGENDA and having it signed by the teacher.
NO STUDENT MAY LEAVE THE ROOM WITHOUT AN AGENDA!!!!!!

·
I work hard to keep this site updated at all
times. However, I occasionally add to or change assignments after updating the
site. This means that you must still
copy your homework into your agenda.
