Chemical Process involved in the production of this product
There isn't a chemical process to obtain potassium sorbate, but there is one to obtain sorbic acid.It includes the use of catalysts such as zinc, cadmium, metal oxide, and others.  These catalysts produce a condensation adduct (a chemical compound that forms from the addition of two or more substances).  After removing the unreacted components and solvent the adduct is then decomposed, and then after creating some mixtures (isometric) and adding it to the decomposition, sorbic acid is produced.
