| Castlewood Breach 9x12 water pastel of the breached dam at Castlewood State Park, Colorado. The resulting Cherry Creek flood from this breach created havoc in 1930's Denver. The presnt Cherry Creek Dam now controls the creek closer to Denver. This dam was intended to impound irrigation water and wasn't primarily for flood control. Quite a little was learned from the failure of this dam. |
