Poem Analysis
Out of the three poems I think "Boy at the Window" is the best,
and uses the best diction. This can be shown through such lines as
"The pale-faced figure with bitumen eyes Returns him such a god-forsaken
stare". The poem is talking about a boy and a snowman, instead of
saying the white snowman, the poet describes the color of the snowman better
using "the pale-faced figure". The poet also describes the material
eyes without actually saying that its coal. Another good line is
"Though frozen water is his element" I think this is a good way to describe
snow and the snowman himself, with out just saying something that is used
a lot the poet uses a unique way to describe things in this poem.
