Getting referrals is really the hardest part of completing an offer but don't sweat it. There are many ways you can get them.

This will tell you step by step how to get an Elite for free. There are only 4 steps. You need:
1) A valid credit card (don't worry; you card will NOT get charged one penny). If you are uncomfortable using your own CC, use a Visa Gift Card). Again, my rating on eBay is 100%; I WOULD NOT RISK IT on something stupid.
1) Get started on getting your Free Xbox 360 Elite. [The link will open up a new window] Registration takes less than a minute. Make sure to use a REAL, VALID E-MAIL ADDRESS. When it asks for your personal information, I would recommend using a college or university address if you are still in college; your real details are fine too (thats what I used). That is where your prize will be mailed so make sure it's some place you can access.
2) Sign up for the "Referral Account" type. Once you've signed up, pick whichever Xbox 360 package you would like. The Xbox Elite is a package is one of the options. You can even choose to pick $400 cash instead of a system. Only two more steps to go!3) Do the free trial offer from "STAMPS.COM". You will get charged nothing. STAMPS.COM makes their money from people who do not cancel after the four week trial period is over. That means you have to hold the offer for 21 days in order for the offer to count. As long as you cancel after Day #21 and before Day #28, you complete an offer and get charged no money (because you canceled within the 6 day "golden" period). However, you should definitely keep the service if you really like it!
*Quick Update*: I've heard some reports that you should actually print postage to confirm this offer 110%. I don't think you have to (I did not), but if you have a printer, just fire it up and print something (never hurts to be extra sure!).
MAJOR UPDATE (4/10/2008): After asking about people's experiences, STAMPS.COM is NOT providing credit on time! You can still do the offer but it might not give you credit instantaneously. I would STRONGLY recommend doing Blockbuster, GAMEFLY or GOOGLE SEO ADVISOR instead (they have higher reliability rates). It is a SMALL investment to make (Not more than 9 bucks) but you thats all you will have to spend.
Regardless of what you choose, just make sure you do one offer (any offer) because otherwise, you will not be able to refer other people. Now on to the last step!
4) Now that you have one offer complete, you need to get referrals. An Xbox Elite costs 9 Referrals. You can send your link to your friends and family, but if you want to get serious, you can start posting on forums and message boards. A lot of them have "spam" protection so the most effective method, and the one that I use, is the eBay Method.Feel free to copy my eBay listings for this (username jlwilsonjr) but make sure to change your website (you need to use your own authentic referral link). According to many people, by using eBay, it takes about 1-2 weeks in order to get your Xbox 360! (It's pretty effective).
Remember: eBay will NOT allow you to list up this specific information like your referral link because it violates their policy. Start up a free webpage on any server like Geocities and once you have that page set up, you will be ready to refer other people via an eBay listing.
Set up the following listings on eBay :
Expiration in 1 day= 5 listings
Expiration in 3 days= 5 listings
Expiration in 5 days= 3 listings
Expiration in 7 days= 2 listings
This will cost you a total of about $3.00 [which is nothing compared to the results you get].

Set up an email at a place like Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail, and use this new email to register your sites.
Always write down the trial offers you signed up for and under what
sites you're doing them. This will help you to keep track of the
credits, cancellation periods etc. This information is important if a
dispute every comes up.
Keep track of when your trial offers expire. The day you signed up for the trial offer counts as day 1.
Never cancel your trial offer too early. Try to wait until your account
has been credited. Also, you don't want to wait until the last minute
to cancel your account. Most importantly, DON'T FORGET TO CANCEL YOUR
TRIAL SUBSCRIPTION!!! If you do forget, the sponsor will bill you for
one full month of their service, which in some cases can be very
expensive.
Before you sign up at any site, try to research them out as much as
possible to see what other clients have to say about the site.
If you are uncomfortable giving out your credit card information, purchase a Visa gift card. They work quite well.
Don't create multiple accounts on the same site from the same computer! These companies can track IP addresses, and if you have more than one account on the same computer, they will (in some cases) not send you any prizes or rewards. You are taking a risk by opening multiple accounts for the same site from the same computer. This also extends to the same address, phone number, etc...
