Rotisserie
Central
This is the headquarters for the
Rotisserie leagues that I run.
The Friends League started in 1999. This group had done leagues in the past, but
due to separation had let them lag.
With web sites and e-mail, we decided to give it another shot and it has
worked fairly well. We tinker with the
rules and setup most every year. In
2000, we added the waiver claim rule, which means that if two teams claim the
same player, the lower team in the standings receives him. In 2001, we went to a split season, with a
first half winner, a second half winner, and an overall winner. For 2003, we reverted back to a single
season league and changed the moves deadline from Saturday midnight to Sunday
midnight, with a shift in the stats week as well. Matt Scott broke Andy Stroud’s grip on the league in 2002 but
Andy reclaimed the title in ’03. In
2004, we are going to take the next step and use a pay service (CBS
Sportsline.com) to do our stats.
The
Southern League began in 2001. It was designed to be a little more in-depth
than the other two leagues. More
categories, a larger roster, and contracts with salaries are parts of this
league. We even added off-season free
agency, which may be the most exciting part of the whole league. The rules can be found on the SLB home
page. I won two of the three years, but
after 2003 we folded the Southern League.
One of my leagues folded in 2001. The Accounting League history, however, is still available for
viewing. Another league, the Cactus
League, folded after the 2002 season.
Its history can be found here.
CardsClubhouse.com, a great Cardinal site, is
having three leagues this year. I’m
running the first, CCFBL, and the draft, rosters, and during-draft trades can be found here. The other two are a points league (DK57, run
by Etheridge2, with its draft, rosters and trades) and a head-to-head league, run by BrewCards
(you can find its draft, rosters and trades on here as well).
