REVOLUTION IN THE LEAGUE!!!
Astute observers knew it was going to happen sooner or later. There had been signs of it throughout the year. But now, the Friends League officially has a new ruler, as Andy Stroud’s Empire has been overthrown in favor of Matt Scott’s New Republic.
Scott completed the clean sweep of
power, taking the first, second and overall titles. After coming so close last year, he finally has reached the
summit.
When asked for comment about his
third-place finish, Stroud shot Force lightening out of his hands at the
questioner, frying him to a crisp. The
rest of the press corps quickly noted, “No comment.”
Scott was more forthcoming at his
press conference, at which he was flanked by a large Wookee and a golden
protocol droid. “This is a great day
for me and all the little people who have been beaten down by Andy for so
long. I look forward to beating all of
you down for many years to come.”
Scott was asked about the “juicing”
scandal that hit the league mid-summer.
The Wookie then tore the arms off of the questioner. The corps again noted, “No comment.”
Others in the league were mixed with
their reactions.
Chad Skelton, the runner-up for the
third time in four years, said, “I’m disappointed, sure. I’m tired of this second crap. But at least I didn’t lose to Andy this
time. I even finished ahead of him,
which was my goal at the beginning of the year.”
Daniel Shoptaw, between his wails of
agony at finishing last, said, “Does it matter who wins? My team sucked. A team full of Ewoks could have beaten my team.” Shoptaw was immediately shot at with
primitive arrows and had to duck swinging logs coming from irate Ewoks.
The rest of the league was rejoicing
over the change at the top and could not be reached for comment.
