Details

The Community Support Specialist will live together in a commune style environment. Living in a residential downtown area in Sunnyside, Washington.

You will be required to work with the group to aide the community using individual strengths and sharpening leadership skills.

The position is ideal for those hardcore passionate, determined, courageous, self motivated, inventive, inspirational individuals who work quickly on their feet and keep an open mind.

True hardcore activist/ organizers who are natural born leaders are strongly encouraged to apply.

We provide room and board, a weekly stipend, networking and activist training opportunities.

Ideal for students.

Seeking pioneer activist who live for social change and are seeking a new challenge to serve untargeted, underserved, and unrepresented groups in the Yakima Valley (Washington).  By using the humanities and other ways of artistic expression as a form of neo-community activism.  We seek social entrepreneurs ready to use their skills to motivate and mobilize others, promote the program, and solve issues in their community that will develop long lasting positive results with this area population.  Ideal candidates will posses leadership skills, have strong sense to tap into resources with local government, media, funders, and develop strong ties with other nonprofits and individuals.  If you have a social and environmental justice spirit and are willing to take on the job full time, live under one roof  with a group of like minded individuals then consider the position of Community Support Specialist. 

Community Support Specialist (CSS) are broken up into 4 positions what will work together to solve problems full time. 

Artist(s)- defined as musicians, writers, storytellers, poets, visual artists and performing artists and open to unidentified forms of artistic expression.

Chicano/a Activist- experienced in working with Chicano populations in community spirit, on-line, in school as a volunteer, as an organizer, as a avid researcher and other forms of activism. 

Educator- experience in educating groups, families (even your own), at risk populations or in a school environment.  A strong heart of an educator regardless of education.

Feminist- experience in women's issues, feminist work, empowering Latinas/ Chicanas, young women's issues and ect.

Minimum Requirements

Willing to dedicate  full time (24/7) work to  experimental activist work

Willing to keep an open mind and provide positive support to other Community Support Specialist and at risk population
