Our Schedule



7:30-8:30                Arrival, Handwash, Breakfast
                                        
8:30-9:00                Free Play

9:00-9:30                Circle Time, Group Discussion
                 
9:30-10:00              Art or Music

Once a week the children are instructed in Music/Drama by someone from the Academy of Performing Arts in our county.  Monthly, we have an instructor from the Catawba Science Center present an interesting science lesson.

10:00-10:15            Snack

10:15-10:45            Teacher Directed Outdoor Activity

10:45-11:30            Free Play Outside

11:30-12:00            Free Play Inside

12:00-12:15            Clean up, Handwash

12:15-12:45            Lunch

12:45-1:00              Prepare for nap, Reading

1:00-3:00               Nap (see note at bottom)

3:00-3:15               Clean up nap area, Handwash

3:15-3:45               Snack

3:45-4:15               Handwash, Finish any art work

4:15-4:45               Clean up, Prepare for parent arrival

4:45-5:30               Puzzles, Books, Quiet free play    
              


All children 5 years old and younger require a rest period each day. 
It is not required that they sleep, however, they are to remain quiet during this time.  Alternate activities are provided for those who do not nap.

The schedule is followed as closely as possible.  There are times though that the children get interested in something beneficial to them. I alter the schedule to allow such child directed learning experiences.
