This is a particularly sad category. I actually love American food, but it seems that about 99% of all affordable American restaurants in this area are major chain restaurants and/or hamburger shacks. And it's against my religion to put major chain restaurants on this website. I personally love hamburgers, but most of the fast food places around here aren't that different from each other. Anyhow, American restaurants run the whole gamut of foods. Some restaurants are labeled as Italian, Mexican, or Chinese. But in reality, they should be labeled Italian-American, Mexican-American, etc. I'm reserving this category for unhyphenated American cooking, which, unfortunately, doesn't leave me much to work with. |
