OBJECTIVE
My primary objective is to be a member of a talented team, which makes a significant economic contribution to society as a whole. I want to haul something big! I enjoy working with highly skilled people who know how to work. I also enjoy working on my own, and so I am looking forward to Long haul Trucking, and I am seriously looking at becoming an Owner Operator.
SUMMARY
WORK EXPERIENCE
July 2002 to Oct 2002: Ontario School of Trucking AZ Over the Road Diploma. Topics covered were: Carrier Documentation, Air Brake Certification, Dangerous Goods Certification, Defensive Driving Certification, Highway laws & Regulations, Log Book usage, North America Trip planning, Axle weight & limitations, Boarder Crossing procedures. Gained driving experience with 53 foot dry vans with both Volvo VN and International Eagle tractors with Fuller 10 speed transmissions.
2001 to 2002: Workshift Solutions as a network engineer supporting Windows and Unix (Linux, Solaris, HPUX) systems for client organizations. This included design, installation, setup, and administration troubleshooting of customer turnkey systems.
2000 to Jan 2001: The Computing Administrator for the Nortel Optical Networks Captive Office REDLAN (R&D) environment at Skyline Ottawa. This consisted of 300 CPUs of Suns (Sol 2.6, 2.7 & 2.8), HPs (UX10, UX11) and Dells (Nt4 or Win2000) that supported a very large developer community. I was responsible for new deployments, system planning, user satisfaction, system troubleshooting, system reliability, third party applications and general guru for all these systems. I became proficient with Flare and Ignite, and the Nortel Corporate Unix Environment. I refocused the internal Nortel processes and made the system reliable and responsive to the developer needs again.
98 to 2000: Technical consultant to the Ocrinet Dark Fiber Consortium, which tried to deploy a carrier leased dark fiber ring in Ottawa. The fiber was to support advanced network research, applications & initiatives in Ottawa and provide access to Ca*NET3 for approved Institutions. On term contract with OCRI managing the Ottawa area Multi Vendor Broadband Network. In this capacity I gained considerable expertise with:
Newbridge: 36170, 36150, Vivid MPOA, LMCS Wireless;
Cisco: Catalyst 7500, 5500 with RSM, and 4500’s
Nortel: Passport 50, NMS, ADSL and 1 Meg modems;
Fore Systems: ASX 1000, 200Wg and 200Bx switches;
Lucent: Wavelan wireless products;
Solaris: 2.5.1 & 2.6;
Linux: Redhat SuSE, E-smith. Used as network routers, application servers & for R&D.
This R&D environment supported IP and multicast and native ATM within the Ottawa region using both a dedicated ATM network and Carrier based ATM networks. (Bell, Metronet/ATT, Onet, Canarie Canet2&3). I worked very closely with the following technical support staffs: CRC, NRC, Local School boards, Telesat, OHI, ORCC, Algonquin, Canarie/Ardnoc, Bell Demonstration Center, Newbridge, Nortel, GTIS, Bell Nexxia, WEDnet, Capilano College, St Clair College, Centennial College, General Assembly Production Center, to bring broadband networks and applications to light. Jointly managed the CRC/Ocri Gigapop with William Maton and Michel Savoie of CRC. For example, at the Ottawa Valley Technology Showcase, Corel Center, 29 March 2000, I used a Telesat Satellite modem up linked to AnikE1 and down linked to CRC and demonstrated a real-time 3-point video conference using IP multicast across Canet3.
95 to 97: Three years as Network Administrator for OCRI, CITO, Evert Communications, Canderel and Intellitech. I personally ensured that all these business systems worked. My responsibilities included fixing all hardware, software and networking problems administering user accounts and mail systems, user help and training, implementing wide area networking and mobile connectivity and performing system upgrades & installing and administering MS BackOffice suite of products. I extended the CITO Network to sites at University of Toronto and University of Waterloo. I became adept at upgrading hardware in PCs and servers. I also am adept at troubleshooting any problem in a LAN and taking corrective action. I have worked with numerous ISPs to setup and diagnose Internet connectivity issues.
91 to 94: Self Employed. With Aprel Inc I completed electromagnetic shield testing of a 5000 square meter 100dBm shielded Facility at CFS Lietrim and interfacing with the Prime Contractor, PCL, for defect rectification. Also I designed and erected of a 2000 square foot anechoic shielded test chamber at Spectrum Sciences Labs, Nepean. Design and construction of a $30,000 Workshop. Site management and general contractor for a $240,000 residence. These were fantastic projects and gave me invaluable experience.
86 to 91: Training and Certification as a Marine Systems Engineer with the Canadian Navy. Three years experience as Project Officer with Ship Refits management group at NDHQ. While with Ship Refits my ability to communicate with organizations and senior managers was rated as excellent. Duties were:

FINAL COMMENTS
I always find ways to get the job done. I can work with any technology or organization as I learn what I need to know and then transfer that knowledge to my customers and coworkers.
