TESTIMONIES :
A DROWNED CHILD WAS BROUGHT TO LIFE

This happened to my sixth daughter, Fei-wa, when she was two years old.
One day, together with her five-year-old sister and a little girl, she
went to a pool behind our house. They were scooping up water to feed the
cricket they had with them. Suddenly, my younger daughter fell into the
pool. My other daughter did not dare to return home to report what had
happened but the little girl who was with them quickly ran home to
inform us of the incident. On hearing the bad news, my eldest daughter
ran as fast as she could to investigate. At that moment, a farmer who
was tilling the ground at the south-east end of the pool, heard a shrill
cry from a washer-woman at the north-east end of the pool. Without any
hesitation, he rushed to her aid and lifted up the drowned child. He was
carrying the body home when he met my eldest daughter. She then took her
home.
To any doctor, my daughter’s condition was a hopeless case, as she had
been in the water for a long time. Her pulse had stopped, her body was
cold and the pupils of her eyes were dilated. Her face was pale. In
fact , there seemed no hope of reviving her at all. But, as a parent, I
did not want to give up hope and also as a doctor, being duty-bound, I
tried my best to save her. I applied artificial respiration, gave her an
injection and applied other methods. However, my efforts were in vain.
We could only see foam coming out of her mouth and nose.
When it was beyond anyone’s ability to do anything, we had to turn to
God for help and mercy. Together with other church members who had heard
of the sad news, we knelt down and pleaded to God for His mercy and
grace. The door was packed with onlookers and on seeing us praying
fervently to the Lord, they murmured among themselves, " How ridiculous
and superstitious of them to pray for the revival of a dead child. If
they can, through prayers, bring back the life of this child, we would
definitely believe that Jesus is indeed a living God."
Although it seems impossible in the eyes of men, nothing is impossible
to God. Thanks to the Lord Jesus for His mercy and grace for He answered
our prayers. He manifested His power and brought my drowned child to
life ! Lord Jesus said in John 11 : 25," I am the resurrection and the
life; he who believes in Me , though he die , yet shall he live."
Paul also once said in I Thessalonians 1 : 9 , "Turned to God from
idols, to serve a living and true God." Jesus is the true and living God.
May all praise and glory be unto God. Amen !
