Alas, just a day at Davis and it was time to board the Twin Otters for the flight to Mawson. This was jokingly reffered to as Antarctic Airways flight 1 to Mawson. The planes were fitted with skis, and took off and landed at both Davis and Mawson on the sea ice. They were rather cosy for the two and a half hour flight to Mawson too.
