All first-time expeditioners to cross the 60 degrees south latitude must pay homage to the God of the Seas, King Neptune. King Neptune visited us with his wife, Queen Neptune the day after we crossed 60 south. Homage was paid by 'kissing the fish', a bundle of kippers, prawns, and fish fillets all tied together. It was a good laugh, and honoured the time old tradition.
