Mt Parsons is located in the David range, approximately 25 kilometres south-south-west of Mawson station. The peak of Mt Parsons rises to 1 030 metres above sea level. That is just under half the elevation of Australia's Mt Kosciusko. In the crisp, clean Antarctic air you can see a long way from that height. At the top there is a VHF radio repeater to boost our communications distances in the field. We climbed to the top of Mt Parsons on Christmas eve morning to check it out. This is the view towards Mawson station from about half way up.
