ANTARCTICA - JOURNEY TO THE ICE

Wandering Albatross, Southern Ocean

Nice day for a glide...

The Southern Ocean has a vast array of seabirds, and the Wandering Albatross is quite common in the region between Australia and Antarctica. Although it doesn't look it, this bird has a wingspan of 3.5 metres, the largest of any flying bird in the world. Also seen in the Southern Ocean were Sooty Albatross, Black-browed Albatross, Brown Chinned Petrels, Storm Petrels, and Prions.
