So I'm home again.  I must admit that my bed has never felt as soft, or the food tasted as good, as it did last night.  I suppose, if there were anyone reading this as some point in the future, they might want more on what has just recently happened to me then the brief notes I've written so far.  Alright then.  Much as I wish to forget all that has happened to me these past weeks? days?, I am not writing this journal for myself.  So I will write down, in more detail, all that has happened since I was captured.  Plus I think I might have misquoted a few things, but if so I will correct it once and for all over the next few days.  It's too much, I fell, to be covered in one journal entry.  Ok, here I go.

Like I stated in a previous entry we had sighted what appeared to be a herd of horses.  And as I stated later it turned out to be a herd of horses.  They ran from us at first, wary of us.  They were obviously tame, but it had been at least a couple years since they'd had contact with humans.  They were cautious  However, patience paid off.  We were able to get them into a corral we'd thrown together really quick.  We selected several of our number to go ahead and return home with the animals we'd already hunted, and the horses.  We continued on.

It was a couple days later when we saw the smoke in the distance.  We were actually preparing to head back home.  It had been a very successful hunt after all.  And we'd been away from home long enough.  Of course my pregnancy made the others nervous and they wanted me home as soon as possible.  People have always been protective of a pregnant woman, but it's gotten so much worse.  I wouldn't be surprised if from now on no pregnant women will be allowed more than an hour or so from home.  Anyhow, again I stray from the story I am sure you wish to hear.  Like I was just saying, it was a couple days later that we saw the smoke.  Our first thought was, of course, wild fire, but it didn't take us long to realize that the smoke was too controled to be from a wild fire.  It could only be a man made fire.  Which, in turn, meant that there would be people.  We always look for more people on any of our hunting, or foraging trips.  We have greatly increased our population doing so.

It took us maybe half a day to find what could only be described as a crude village.  There were many huts, and several dirty people milling around.  At a quick glance it looked to be about forty or fifty.  I later found out that there were fifty three.  We walked straight into their little village, hoping to befriend them and have them return with us to our home.  Our city was much more secure and safe than a rude village.  They saw us rather quickly, and immediatly noticed my distended belly.  One man, whom I later learned was their leader made several gestures, and next thing I knew, i was surrounded, with their dirty little hands reaching out to touch my face, belly, hair.  I still shudder at the memory.  My friends of course didn't like this handling of me, and angry words were exchanged.  I'm not really sure how it happened, but I was yanked away from my friends, and put into that horrid little hut that was to be my home for a while.  I heard more words exchanged.  The fact that my friends were outnumbered was pointed out a few times.  Well, as you know my friends left.  What could they have done?  Outnumbered, and facing an adversary that would happily kill each one of them, they had no choice.

What must have been a couple hours later, although I can't say for sure,   The tall thin man who was their leader came into the little hut I was in.  He stood there for a while just looking at me, with a look I most definitely didn't like.  He didn't say anything for at leat a few minutes.  I was decidedly nervous, but thought that maybe everything was just a misunderstanding, and perhaps I could be on my way home as soon as this same day.

"You don't have to keep me prinsoner you know,"  I informed him.  "There are many more people where I'm from, and you and yours are welcome to join us.  I'm not the only one able to bear children.  I'm sure that this is all a misunderstanding.  You must have felt that my friends were a threat to you, which they weren't.  It's an understandable mistake and won't be held against you.  We could be there in about a week if we were to start out now.  We have developed quite a successful community."

"You are not a prisoner," He informed me.  "You are a resident now.  You are the newest member to our little town."  I remember I almost laughed when he referred to that cluster of huts as a town.  "You will, of course, allow yourself to be impregnated again as soon as you deliver this child."  He was quiet for a while then.  "I think the misunderstanding is all yours,"  He informed me.  "I have no intention of joining a bunch of do gooders, as it seems to me that you must be.  Here I have absolute control of the others.  They follow me without a question cause I've taught them that the alternative is death.  What would I have in your joke of a community?  I would be nobody.  Why would I give up being the Ultimate power for being NOTHING???"

I opted for silence then.  The man was obviously a madman.  He hadn't expected my silence I don't think, and he left shortly after.  The next time I saw any of my captors was later that night when they brought me supper.

And speaking of supper, it's that time now.  So I will end this entry now.  But more will be written tomorrow I am sure.
