Jarla, Neril, and Hope gave us a scare this past week.  They thought that it was hilarious.  We didn't.  While Jarla and Neril are young, and Hope not much older than them, they should have known better.  It was almost nighttime, and we were all preparing to eat, when what felt like a huge quake hit.  When it was over we were all near panic as we searched for those three.  The other children and babies were accounted for, but those three were off somewhere.  Hopes screams led us to her.  Jarla and Neril were nowhere to be seen.  Little Hope looked up at us with wide eyes, pointed a shaky finger to her right, and said "tree fell on Arla and Neril!"  A couple tears flowed from her eyes. "Poor Arla, poor Neril."
We freaked, me much more than the others of course, and raced to find where Hope said Jarla and Neril were.  As we started to search for them we heard giggling.  Turning we found that Jarla and Neril were standing next to Hope, uninjured.  We didn't find it funny.  That sort of a joke I don't think anybody could find funny.  How they could conceive of such a joke at such a young age I don't know.
All three are being punished.  What they feel is the biggest part of their punishment is that they aren't allowed to see or play with Mutie.
Well, it's time to go feed the "convicts".  Punished or not, those three children have appetites that would put a grown man to shame.
